Spring Break

Spring Break...
We had great plans.
Scheduled out the week full of fun things to do...
...and didn't do any of them.

We did:
Climb to the Hole in the Rock at Papago Park

Doesn't Dan look so excited to be with his family? It was lots of fun to have him with us. Julia took lots of pictures of herself. Some were actually quite good. Some were a tad bit disturbing.
What else we did (but have no photographic proof of):
Swimming in the freezing cold pool (not me, of course)
Lots friends over lots of days.
Visited the library and checked out 1 book for every 5 movies (or something like that)
Played trains (thanks Travis!)
Extra synchro practices
Went to the movies (Bolt) Oh yeah, and Dan saw Knowing
Tried to go bowling, but too many senior citizens were present (no lanes available)
Played at the park
Slept in (at least I did, Sam and Julia still got up at 6:30)
We are all ready for school to start again tomorrow. At least, that's what I keep telling the kids. You know, subliminal messages: You love school, you want to go to school, you will not miss mom, you don't want to sleep in, you love school, you can't wait to have homework again, you love school.
I'm pretty sure it's working.
But I'll let you know tomorrow.

Yippee for school tomorrow!! Spring break sounded busy at your house! Oh, and hearing a few of your kids wake at 6:30 made me feel so much better. I cant get my twins to sleep past 6:15. But believe me, I am trying my best!

I'm with you on the subliminal messages. "Staying home is not fun" "you should leave the house" "staying home is boring" "it's more fun out there" Too bad it's working on me, not the kids. When are we leaving, and where are we going?

Kara-I think we should have a celebratory outing tomorrow. Maybe lunch or something equally exotic. What do you think?

You made me think that your Spring Break was absolutely terribly boring today. Doesnt look like it at all. My kids were up at 6am every morning of Spring Break. Tomorrow I'm pretty sure they'll be up at 7 am. There's nothing exciting to get up for anymore

I totally loved the day of childcare. Thanks for taking Kinley, I am sure it added some excitement to your week. Yea for school. Just think...State is only a few weeks away!

I wonder if subliminal messages work when grown children move back home. Maybe I should try "you WANT to do chores", "you LOVE doing chores", "you want to do MORE chores"...hmmm, what else can I say?
