I hate socks.
Or, more to the point, I hate putting socks on my six year old.
School started four days ago, and it's been smooth sailing each day. I thought all my troubles with Julia were over.
Not.
What I didn't realize was that she had worn the same pair of socks each day. The ONLY pair of socks she likes.
So today, when I told everyone I was planning on doing the wash, she had to find another pair of socks. *sigh*
It all started again. Her crying. Me yelling. Her kicking. Me spanking. Olivia insisting. Sam leaving. More crying. More yelling. Socks on. Socks off. Shoes tied. Shoes yanked off. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Apparently, she detests the way socks are made. You know the little line that goes across your toes? She hates that. The heel part? She hates that. The fact that sometimes socks aren't soft anymore? She hates that.
I am ready to give up. I hate getting her ready for school. I hate P.E. days. Sometimes, I even think I hate her (not really, but I do hate her behavior and unreasonableness). I'm tempted to let this ruin my day, as I did so many times last year.
Help.
Does anyone know where I can get eternally soft socks with no heels or toe lines? It might just save my relationship with my daughter.

So we need to search for no seam socks...how about tights or pantyhose...hahaha!
I wish I had some ideas for you. I will let you know if I do run across anything. Hang in there. At least the kids are back in school!!
LOL!!! Michael is the SAME way!! Ther is only one brand that he likes and he wears them over and over. Didn't realize he only had one pair left until I forced him to wash them! Gross!!! We went out that day and bought more! I found them at Target. They have a blue bottom and they are low socks. I don't know if they have them for girls, but I would assume they do. He hates the line on the toe and they stay pretty soft. If you want to SEE them, stop by.
The only ones Aaron wears are also found at Target. The have toe lines, but stay soft. Alas, they are for boys - but they are Gold Toe brand.....maybe girls ones exist. I know you get frustrated, but when you write it down so eloquently, it makes me laugh at my own family's foibles. So thank you for sharing your challenges - I love you!
Sorry, I'm no help with the socks. But I do feel your pain. With Shay its her hair. I apparently must never touch her hair, she must do it herself or she throws a huge fit. She's old enough though that I send her out the door fit and all and tell her to get to school
